Chipotle
Serving a very simple menu with wonderful, fresh ingredients, Chipotle finds itself on my radar regularly. And while you can get your main dish with chips and salsa, those chips are deep fried, so you'll want to avoid them. And while the burrito and soft tacos are only a marginal no, minimize the amount of lard you ingest by sticking with a bowl (or its cousin, the salad). This menu was last updated 8/17/2009.

- Chicken. $5.95. Frankly, it's the only thing I ever get, but I love it. A side note on the toppings: you can go overboard if you don't watch yourself. Choose only one of the sour cream, cheese and guacamole (the guacamole adds $1.80 to the cost as well).
- Steak. $6.35. It violates that beef thing for me.
- Carnitas. $6.35. Not bad, but not my speed. See the note about toppings on the chicken version.
- Barbacoa. $6.35. Again, a little too fatty.
- Veggie. $5.95. If that's you're taste, go for it. Also, this one includes the guacamole for the base price. Since you've eliminated the meat, go ahead and substitute either the sour cream or cheese.
